Concerning the Role


For the summer of 2025, OpenAI’s Global Affairs branch is looking for a highly driven intern. To apply, you must have a strong interest in how AI affects global governance and policy. You will assist in working on important topics pertaining to international relations, public policy, and AI laws as an intern. Duties or Responsibilities



As an intern in global affairs, you will:


  • Analyze and investigate global AI laws, governmental policy developments, and geopolitical issues.

  • Draft reports, communications, and briefing materials for interested parties.

  • Support projects pertaining to international partnerships and policy development by collaborating with various teams.

  • Keep tabs on industry trends, competitive intelligence, and significant policy developments in AI governance.

  • Present your study findings and thoughts to support initiatives to share knowledge.

  • Assist in planning conferences, seminars, and conversations with legislators, business leaders, and international partners.


Who May Apply?


You must: Have at least one semester of coursework remaining after the internship to be eligible for this internship.

  • pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, economics, history, public policy, international relations, political science, or law (recommended but not required).

  • possess a strong interest in international politics, technology, and AI governance.

  • Have excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities to simplify difficult subjects into understandable ideas.

  • Be proactive, well-organized, and meticulous.

  • Communicate well and perform well in a fast-paced setting.

  • Although not necessary, any knowledge of artificial intelligence, cutting-edge technology, or regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
